Polyaxial screw

A polyaxial screw is a pedicle screw with a movable head that allows multi-directional angulation relative to the screw shaft. It provides flexibility during rod placement and is widely used in spinal fixation procedures for easier alignment and secure stabilization.

A polyaxial screw is an advanced pedicle screw featuring a ball-and-socket type movable head, which allows the screw head to rotate and angulate in multiple directions relative to the shaft. This design offers significant intraoperative flexibility, making it easier for surgeons to align rods with the screws, even when screw placement angles vary.

Constructed from medical-grade titanium alloy or stainless steel, polyaxial screws ensure high strength, durability, and excellent biocompatibility. The adjustable head simplifies the rod insertion process, reduces surgical complexity, and minimizes stress during assembly of the spinal fixation system.

These screws are commonly used in spinal fusion, trauma fixation, and deformity correction procedures, where ease of implantation and adaptability are important. Although slightly less rigid than monoaxial screws, polyaxial screws provide reliable stabilization with improved surgical convenience.
