Reduction monoaxial screw

A reduction monoaxial screw is a fixed-head pedicle screw designed with an extended reduction mechanism to assist in gradual spinal realignment and rod capture. It provides high rigidity and controlled reduction, making it ideal for deformity correction procedures.

A reduction monoaxial screw is a specialized pedicle screw that combines the rigid stability of a monoaxial (fixed-head) design with an integrated reduction feature, typically in the form of extended tabs or towers. These extended arms allow surgeons to capture and gradually pull the spinal rod into the screw head, facilitating controlled vertebral reduction and alignment during surgery.

The fixed head ensures direct force transmission and superior construct rigidity, while the reduction mechanism simplifies the process of correcting spinal deformities such as scoliosis, kyphosis, or spondylolisthesis. This design minimizes excessive force application and enhances surgical precision.

Manufactured from high-quality titanium alloy or stainless steel, reduction monoaxial screws offer excellent strength, corrosion resistance, and biocompatibility. Once the rod is secured, the extended tabs are typically broken off or removed, leaving a low-profile construct.

These screws are widely used in complex spinal reconstruction and deformity correction surgeries, where controlled reduction and strong fixation are essential.
